CCN Strategic Plan 2009 - 2011
A draft Network Strategic Plan for 2009-2011 was presented to Centre Coordinators in early July 2008. Coordinators were provided with a PowerPoint resource and copies of the Plan, and were encouraged to discuss the Plan with their staff and their Centre Boards of Management. The draft Plan was also circulated to ICTU senior management. Feedback from the various stakeholders was then incorporated into the draft. In November the draft Plan was revised to take account of changing economic and labour market circumstances, was finalised and circulated internally. A copy was also forwarded to FAS community services. The Plan will underpin the work and direction of the Network over the next three years. Individual Centres will be encouraged and supported in the development of their own plans which will complement the Network Plan and facilitate planning and delivery at local level. The first meeting to facilitate this process took place in early March. A number of working groups involving key stakeholders were set up in early 2009 to work in more detail on various aspects and themes within the Network Plan as follows:
- development of information and advocacy services and other supports;
- development of education, training and lifelong learning services, including staff development;
- funding and resources;
- governance;
- policy development and external relations
