Forum for Europe Meets in Navan, April 11

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions has welcomed the opening of debate on the draft European Constitution, under the auspices of regional meetings organised by the National Forum on Europe.

The next meeting takes place on Monday 11th April in Newgrange Hotel Navan at 8.00 p.m.

Noel Treacy, Minister of State for European Affairs and Dan Boyle of the Green Party will participate in the Forum.

Congress believes it is important that trade unions play an active part in this important debate on the future of Europe, as the draft constitution contains important provisions relating to employment, employment rights and social protection.

These are very important issues for Irish workers and citizens and Congress would urge all trade unionists to participate fully in this important, ongoing debate.
