Effective Representation of Members in Employments Rights Disputes
28 February 2017 - 6 March 2017, 08:45 - 17:00
This 2-day course deals with the changed structures and processes of the WRC and Labour Court and focusses on the application of employment rights. The course will provide an overview of legal principles in employment rights and a review of the main legislation covering this area and in particular on equality legislation. The courses are designed to help participants make most effective use of the processes of the institutions and will include guidance on writing submissions, preparing witnesses and cross-examination skills. Participants will have an opportunity to work on a case study which they will then have heard before a full sitting of the Labour Court. Some preparatory work will need to be done between the two days of the course.
