Ballina Centre for the Unemployed
The Centre runs 1:1 computer training that is open to all members of the community. From September 2011 we will be offering an expanded range of courses and are taking input from the community on courses they would like to attend.

About us and our training programmes
We offer help in Job Seeking Skills such as CV & Interview preparation. We also offer a confidential rights advice service. Unemployed members of the community have access to the internet to both search and apply for Jobs and we maintain a Jobs Notice Board.
We also offer a fee based secretarial service to fund the Centre:
Typing: C.V.'s, Projects,Posters, Mailing Lists, Business Cards & Labels, as well as Colour Photocopying; Binding; Laminating.
The Centre is also home to Ballina Trades Council

Training experience and qualifications
Deirdre Carroll has over 20 years Training experience, 10 years in a Corporate Environment. She holds a B.A. in English & History; Fetac L6 Train the Trainer; IMI Master Trainer with a decade of class instruction history with her previous employer. She has worked as a Training Supervisor; Training Specialist and Training Material Developer as well as a Community Employment/Community Response Supervisor
Previous clients and organisations to which we have delivered training
Our Centre serves as a drop in Centre for the Community in general. In the last 7 years we have assisted with over 6 and a half thousand queries on Social Welfare entitlements, help with form filling and general information queries. We have dealt with training queries or provided direct training for over 3.5 thousand people.
