Referendum on Water Supply and Treatment (Adopted)

Motion 40 )

Conference fully supports the decision of the Executive Council of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions to demand a referendum to enshrine the public ownership, supply, treatment and management of water in Ireland in the Irish Constitution as a power of the Executive.

To this end, Conference therefore instructs the incoming Executive Council of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, to campaign vigorously in support of that decision between now and the upcoming General Election. Adopted
