Employment Strategies for people with disabilities are being prepared in both jurisdictions on the island of Ireland. This year's seminar is an update on both and will hear from both people with disabilities in employment and the companies employing them. A programme for the seminar is available here and we will have a number of sessions including an address by Minister Aodhan O Riordain, fresh from recent launch of the Comprehensive Employment Strategy for people with disabilities. There is also a consultation on an employment strategy for people with disabilities in Northern Ireland - see here
Thanks also to Lord Mayor of Waterford, John Cummins for welcoming us and Eoin Ronayne from our Executive Council for his input. Eoin spoke about the centrality of equality to our movement and the need for the public service to act as a role model for employers in the private sector.
