Job Vacancy for Global Solidarity Project

Congress has a vacancy for a Union Services Officer to co-ordinate the trade union movement's Global Solidarity Project in the Republic of Ireland.
The Irish Congress of Trade Unions works to achieve economic development, social cohesion and justice by upholding the values of solidarity, fairness and equality.
The aim of this Project is to increase trade union awareness, action and international solidarity by building the links between respect for core labour standards, globalisation and development. The overall objective is to increase global solidarity by having an informed and active trade union voice on development issues.
Ideally you will already have experience of project management, including financial, people and activity management. We are looking for a superb communicator with experience of producing information materials, website development and writing applications for external funding. You should also have an excellent understanding of international development issues with previous experience in development education, campaigning, communications and advocacy, preferably for an NGO or Trade union organisation. We need a self starter who can work well under pressure and as part of a team.
The project will be based in the Congress office in Dublin.
The salary will be commensurate with experience and linked with the Executive Officer Standard Scale in the Civil Service..
