Film: Adalen '31

Special screening of the classic Swedish labour film, depicting events during the 1931 Adalen strike when the military
opened fire on strikers killing five people. On its release in 1969 Adalen '31 won the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes and
was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

The film will be preceded by a talk by Claes-Mikael Jonsson (Swedish LO) on the formative influence of the events at Adalen, on modern Sweden.

Irish Film Centre, Eustace Street, Dublin, 6.15pm.
