International Day of Persons with Disabilities

To mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities, 3 December 2013, Theme: “Break barriers, open doors: for an inclusive society for all”, Congress is pleased to announce that we will be holding a networking and training update event. 

3 December 2013 10 – 12.30

Equality Commission, Equality House, Shaftesbury Square, Belfast.

The session will be held in the Equality Commission, Equality House, Shaftesbury Square, Belfast starting at 10 am and finishing with a light lunch at 12.30.

Ciaran Trainor from the Equality Commission will provide an update session on recent developments in relation to disability discrimination and there will be an opportunity to ask questions and also discuss issues that you might be experiencing in your workplace in relation to disability. 

Sile Larkin from the Equality Tribunal in the Republic of Ireland will also provide an overview of recent developments in relation to disability cases in the Republic.

Over lunch you will have a chance to meet with disability champions and members of the ICTU Disability Committee who will also be present.
