DEC FRIDAY BRIEFING - Providing Frontline Health & Social Services to the Homeless

The final Friday Briefing of 2018 will feature the work of the Alice Leahy Trust, who assist homeless people by providing them with frontline health & social services.
Our speaker Alice Leahy is is the Director of Services of the Alice Leahy TrustCo-Founder, and was the Director of TRUST since 1975. Alice also held positions such as former Chaiperson of the Sentence Review Group, former Irish Human Rights Commissioner and former member of the Board of Management of Lusk Campus Oberstown. Alice is a writer, broadcaster, commentator and lecturer who promotes an understanding of the outsider in society. Alice was active in the Simon Community for many years before setting up TRUST, and she compiled the report on Medical Care for the Vagrant in Ireland in 1974.
Human contact is a vital component to the work of the Alice Leahy Trust and they assist with linking people to other services both statutory and voluntary, keeping appontments in hospital or courts, and even helping with access to accomodation or reconnecting with family.
