FAIRTRADE, CLIMATE ACTION AND WORKERS RIGHT

As part of Fairtrade Fortnight 2021 Fairtrade Mark Ireland are organising a roundtable discussion will examine how Fairtrade is supporting farmers, producers and workers to become more resilient to climate change.

It will look at how the Fairtrade premium is used on projects such as tree planting, irrigation, crop diversification and clean energy, which are more sustainable on a local level but also contribute to the global fight against climate change. To reinforce these efforts it will look at how stronger workers’ rights and living wages in supply chains can bolster our common efforts to meeting the challenges of climate change including growing economic inequalities.
