Briefing: INTERNATIONAL YEAR FOR THE ELIMINATION OF CHILD LABOUR
17 June 2021, 12:15 - 14:40
Congress and the Irish Forum for Global Education are hosting this briefing to mark the international year to end child labour.
2021 is designated by the ILO as the International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour. Horrifyingly, for the first time since the records began, this year saw a rise in the number of children in child labour. Trade unions can and must take action to protect our future. Join us on Thursday 17th June for a lunchtime Solidarity Briefing with global activists on how we can respond to this gross injustice to millions of children.
Patricia King, General Secretary of Congress; Aidan Clifford, Chairperson, Irish Forum; Timothy Ryan, Global March against Child Labour; Henny Plat van Hooijdonk, FNV; Bangladeshi labour leader, Nazma Akter; and Bon Pasteur, Good Shepard International Foundation in Kolwezi, DR Congo.
