Congress and affiliate trade unions have called for concerted action to end the gender pay gap which stands at 13.9%.
The Department of Justice and Equality launched a consultation bck in August and trade unions have been to the fore in suggesting actions to tackle the gender pay gap. Actions range from company reporting, job evaluation, tackling low pay, promoting girls into STEM subjects, providing quality affordable accessible childcare amongst others.
