Wexford Trade Union Centre
- Trade Unions & Civil Society: Working Together to Combat Racism. Wexford Trade Union Centre, Thursday, February 27th
This half day workshop is open to all trade union representatives and members.
(10.30am-1.30pm, lunch included).
Evidence has shown that when Trade Unions and civil society organisations come together in collaboration on social justice issues, the results can be particularly effective.
This workshop will explore how trade union representatives and members can contribute effectively to anti-racism endeavors by enhancing such partnerships. The training will offer a space to learn more about ICTU’s Stronger Together project; the work of INAR (Irish Network Against Racism); and will facilitate a space to reflect and plan for potential ways of engaging and working with NGOs and new communities to challenge racism more effectively.
Topics covered will include What can trade unions learn from civil society groups, and vise-versa? What can civil society groups and trade unions learn from one another in relation to strategies to challenge and resist far-right narratives and actions? What strategies or innovations may be developed? Where to start?
Facilitated by ICTU and INAR (The Irish Network Against Racism), Kindly funded through the Ireland Against Racism Fund.
All training is free of charge. To apply for a place on any of the training events, simply send an email to [email protected] with your name, title, union affiliation, along with the title of the course you’d like to attend.
