The Teachers’ Union of Ireland, TUI, is a public sector trade union affiliated to ICTU and represents approximately 23,000 teachers and lecturers in Post Primary, Further and Higher Education.
The Union is seeking to fill the following position: Executive Officer, Accounting and Finance Lead
The Position:
This is a permanent, whole-time position based at TUI Head Office, 73 Orwell Road, Rathgar, Dublin 6.
Reporting to the Administrative Officer, the key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supervising the accounting team
- Preparing monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements
- Managing payroll, bank reconciliations, VAT returns and balance sheet reconciliations
- Coordinating the annual audit and liaising with external accountants
- Managing the annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Monitoring financial controls, expenditure, compliance and budget variances
- Preparing financial reports and analysis for management
The Person:
The successful candidate will have:
- At least five years’ post-qualification experience in financial management and accounting
- Strong experience in accounts preparation, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
- Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and financial controls
- Excellent computer skills, including Sage 50, Office 365 and Microsoft Dynamics
- Strong leadership, planning, communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

The salary is aligned with the Civil Service Executive Officer scale plus an additional allowance.
