April 28th marks Workers' Memorial day which this year has the theme 'Protecting workers around the world through strong regulation, enforcement and union rights'.

Congress, through its Health & Safety Committee, will mark the day with the dedication of the terrace garden in the headquarters of the Communications Workers' Union to those who have died or been injured at work. General Secretary David Begg will unveil a plaque and there will be short addresses by Martin O'Halloran, Chief Executive of the Health & Safety Authority, Sylvester Cronin representing EC-OSHA and Emer Costello MEP.
